Real estate agent.
Born at Portage la Prairie on 10 September 1863, son of farmer John Garrioch and Eliza Garrioch (daughter of Colin Campbell, Chief Factor of the Hudson’s Bay Company), he was educated at public schools and Lansdown College at Portage la Prairie. In 1893, he was appointed a Crown Timber Agent at Portage la Prairie, and also was an inspector for sale of University of Manitoba lands. He had also worked in the lands department of the Hudson’s Bay Company. He later operated a real estate agency at Portage la Prairie. He served as Chairman of the Public School Board in 1911, and a Portage city alderman. He moved to Winnipeg in 1940. In 1892, he married Catherine Purves (?-?) at Portage la Prairie. They had one son and six daughters. He was a member of the W.O.W., Conservative party, and Anglican church. In 1911, he lived at 49 Garrioch Street SW in Portage la Prairie. He died at Winnipeg on 21 October 1956 and was buried in the St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery at Portage la Prairie.
