Memorable Manitobans: Raymond Alfred “Ray” Frost (1928-2014)Hockey coach. Born at Winnipeg on 5 January 1928, he attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate and coached minor and junior hockey for 40 years, starting in 1944 with the Downing Parks Board Team, while working as a trader with a major grain company in Winnipeg. He managed the MJHL Winnipeg Rangers for ten seasons, during which time the team won the MJHL championship three times. He was a scout for the NHL Philadelphia Flyers (1967-1977). In 2005, he was inducted into the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame. He died at the St. Boniface Hospital on 23 June 2014. Sources:Obituary, Winnipeg Free Press, 25 June 2014.
