Memorable Manitobans: Olga Foltz (c1926-2000)

Community activist.

A champion for the poor, in the late 1980s she was founding Executive Director of the Manitoba Anti-Poverty Organization. In recognition of her community service, she received a Citizen Activist Award from the Joseph Zuken Memorial Association, was named a YWCA Woman of the Year (1984), and was inducted into the Manitoba Order of the Buffalo Hunt (1986). She died at her Winnipeg residence on 18 July 2000 and was buried in the Brookside Cemetery.
