Chorister.
Born at Oxfordshire, England in 1918 to Lilian Cordelia Branscombe (1882-1973) and Ebenezer Evans (1876-1956), he came to Canada with his parents when he was a young child and they lived in Saskatchewan before moving to Winnipeg. He was in the army for over four years, fighting in northwest Europe with the South Saskatchewan Regiment.
On 28 June 1941, he married Helen Davina Prescott (1920-1983, daughter of J. T. Prescott) at the Atlantic United Church and they subsequently had a son and a daughter. One of his greatest loves was music. He sang solos in choirs, and conducted choirs for over 60 years. He was General Chairman of the Winnipeg Music Competition Festival for six years, served as President of the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir, and sang with the Philharmonic Choir for many years.
He died at Winnipeg in 2010.
