Municipal official, community activist.
Born at Ste. Rita on 19 January 1953, one of 12 children of Paul Emery and Jeanne Ducharme, he worked on various job until joining the Canadian National Railways in 1972 and spent 22 years at various locations in eastern Manitoba and western Ontario. After leaving the railway in 1994, he worked at the Red Willow Lodge where he was a sun dancer and pipe carrier. He built paint booths in Winnipeg and across western Canada from 1996 to 2012 when he partially retired.
He was married twice, first in 1974 to Karen Ladychuk with whom he had a daughter. In 1983, he married Sherry Bilyk and they had a son and a daughter. He served as a councillor (seven years) and Reeve (2001-2005) of the RM of Reynolds. He was also active with the Manitoba Metis Federation, Ste. Rita Community Club, Royal Canadian Legion, Knights of Columbus, and Kildonan Horizons.
He died at the St. Boniface Hospital on 14 July 2022.
