Memorable Manitobans: James Edwards (1892-1967)Educator. Born at Liverpool, England in 1892, he came to Manitoba where he was the Principal of Lenore School (1929-1930), Whitemouth School (1930-1932), Teulon School (1932-1939), and Transcona Collegiate (1939-1958). He retired from teaching in 1958. He and wife Edith Sarah Edwards (?-1962) had two sons, both of whom became doctors. He died at Los Angeles, California on 16 February 1967 and was buried in the St. John’s Cathedral Cemetery.
