Memorable Manitobans: Beatrice Dunstone (1917-2014)Community activist. Born at Transcona in 1917, she grew up there and married in 1939. She began volunteer work at the Victoria General Hospital in 1964 and spent 40 years with the hospital guild, primarily as Manager of the gift shop. In 2003, she received the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Community Service and had a conference room and scholarship named for her. She died at the hospital on 4 May 2014.
