Memorable Manitobans: Gerald “Gerry” Dorge (1944-2025)

Businessman.

Born on 22 May 1944, he was raised on a farm near Ste. Agathe. In adulthood, he was involved in many businesses, including Country Kitchen restaurants (1980s) and Canadian Publishers. Committed to the Francophone community, he was general manager for La Liberté newspaper (1970s) and was the Chief Executive Officer for Entreprises Riel (2000s). In 1967, he married Raymonde and they had two children. He died at Winnipeg on 13 January 2025.
