Journalist.
Born at Montreal, Quebec on 24 December 1930, in 1950 he moved west to work for Canadian Press in Winnipeg. He married Yvette Beauchamp (1927-2013) in 1952, with whom he had two children. He began working at the Winnipeg Tribune in 1957, rising through the ranks to become assistant managing editor and ombudsman. Respected by his peers, he chaired numerous Western Canadian News Editor Conferences. When the Tribune folded in 1980, he and his wife moved to Ottawa where he continued his career at the Ottawa Citizen, in various capacities. He retired to Victoria, British Columbia, in 1993, concluding a 51-year career as a journalist. There, he served as President of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (Queen of Peace Conference) for two four-year terms. He died at Victoria on 5 October 2004.
