Telephone engineer.
Born at Taunton, Somerset, England on 4 March 1889, he came to Winnipeg in 1910. Joining the engineering staff of Manitoba Government Telephones, he held several positions, being general plant superintendent at the time of his death. During the First World War, he served overseas with the 203rd Battalion of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles.
He and wife Louise Chester Thomas (1893-1966) had three children: Frederick Louis “Erick” Crease (1917-1990), Hilda Marie Crease (1920-?, wife of R. Earl Rose), and Louie May Crease (1921-?, wife of Ken C. Lowe). He was a member of the Professional Engineers of Manitoba, Telephone Pioneers of America, and Manitoba Electrical Association. He was one of the first amateur radio operators in Winnipeg.
He died at Winnipeg on 28 January 1954 and was buried in the St. John's Cathedral Cemetery.
