Memorable Manitobans: James Fraser Moore “Jim” Cox (1913-1999)

Insurance agent, municipal official.

Born at St. Boniface on 31 October 1913, son of John Cox and Mary Moore, he operated the James F. Cox Insurance Agency with his wife. During the Second World War, he served as an officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He and wife Agnes Cecilia Cox (1914-1998) had no children. He was the Reeve of Charleswood (1953-1955). He died at the Deer Lodge Centre on 11 March 1999 and was buried in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
