Memorable Manitobans: Alpin Chisholm (c1863-1956)

Businessman, municipal official.

Born at Inverness, Scotland, he came to Canada in 1887 and, three years later, established the general store of Chisholm and McKenzie at Morris. A few years later, he went into the real estate business. He served as Mayor of Morris from 1896 to 1901. He died at Brandon on 9 May 1956 and was buried in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg.
