Farmer.
Born at Rossburn in 1927, son of John Chegwin (1894-1973) and Annie Chegwin (1904-1990), he married Thelma Rachel Menzies (1925-2017) and they had a son and a daughter. They operated a farm and a construction company that gravelled highways all over Manitoba. They sold the business in 1967 to concentrate on farming where they raised Belgian horses, and Hereford, Simmental, and Limousin cattle. He exhibited his livestock at shows across Canada. He served as President of the Shoal Lake Agricultural Society (1991-1994) and a councillor for the Rural Municipality of Shoal Lake (1997-2001). He died at Shoal Lake on 15 April 2010 and was buried in the Shoal Lake Cemetery. He was inducted posthumously into the Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame (2012).
