Jeweller.
Born at Toishan, Guangdong, China on 23 June 1935, he moved to Hong Kong at the age of 19 to apprentice in goldsmithing. There, on 28 October 1962, he married Kam Ling and started a family. In July 1970, they immigrated to Winnipeg where he worked as a goldsmith at Silverman Jewellers. In 1978, he opened W. K. Chan Jewellers at 339 Portage Avenue and eventually had jewelry stores at Polo Park Mall, St. Vital Centre, and in Brandon. He held an annual golf tournament to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division). He died at Winnipeg on 5 June 2020 and was buried in the Thomson “In The Park” Cemetery.
