Jeweler.

Born in Ontario on 10 June 1872, he came to Winnipeg where he was a noted jeweler. In 1909 he was a founding member of the Manitoba Association of Optometrists. On 23 January 1901, he married Mina Bain (1869-1944, sister of Donald Henderson Bain) and they had two children: Charles James Carter (1902-?) and Helen Mary Carter (1906-?). The family lived at 230 Young Street. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias. He died suddenly at Winnipeg on 26 April 1925 and was buried in the Elmwood Cemetery.
