Professor.
Born in Russia on 9 June 1923, he was a Professor of Literature at the University of Manitoba until his retirement. A lover of the outdoors, he spent many hours searching for and collecting fossils. In 1970, he received a Manitoba Centennial Medal from the Manitoba Historical Society in recognition of his service. He and his wife, Thelma Jean Opseth, had one son. He died at Winnipeg on 29 March 1988.
