Businessman.
Born at Winnipeg on 22 June 1946, son of Elizabeth Louise “Lou” Moore (1913-1992) and John Melville Brown, the family moved to Fort Garry in 1951 where he lived for the remainder of his life. He played hockey and football, later being a linebacker and offensive guard for the Weston Wildcats and St. Vital Bulldogs.
He worked in the construction industry as Chief Executive Officer of Atkins Underground that specialized in trenchless pipe installation for sewer and water systems. He was President of the Manitoba Heavy Construction Association (1983-1984).
On 24 August 1973, he married Marsha Kay Ruby at St. Ignatius Catholic Church and they had a son and a daughter. The family had a cottage on West Hawk Lake and he was a member of the Portage Country Club. He served as a Winnipeg city councillor (1984-1992) and Deputy Mayor, and a member of the board for the Victoria Hospital.
He died at the St. Boniface Hospital on 24 February 2016 and was buried in the Thomson “In the Park” Cemetery.
