Community activist.
Born at Winnipeg around 1945, sight-impaired daughter of Avis Althea Harriett Strang (?-1980) and Herbert Browning McLeod (1906-1982), she lobbied successfully to have federal tax forms and guides issued in braille. Her complaint against the City of Winnipeg with the Manitoba Human Rights Commission, settled in 2008, will result in the installation of audible warnings at all pedestrian crossings in the city. She was married twice, first on 26 June 1971 to Harry A. Monk and second on 18 August 1993 to Barrie Hudson Bridgeman (c1940-2002). She died at Winnipeg on 30 June 2010.
