Memorable Manitobans: Walter Robert Barnes (c1930-1995)

Educator.

Born around 1930, son of Harry James Barnes (1887-1961) and Edna Mae Paddock (1898-1981), he was Vice-Principal at Krawchyk School (1963-1965) in the Brooklands School District and Principal of Birchwood School (1967-1970) in the St. James School Division. He married Carrie Czornobay (c1931-1997) and they had two daughters. He died at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital on 17 May 1995 and was buried in the Brookside Cemetery.
