Memorable Manitobans: William Balfour (1868-1957)Farmer. Born at Orkney, Scotland on 26 May 1868, he came to Manitoba in 1897 and purchased land in the McKenzie district at 27-2-9 and later purchased a home near Manitou. In June 1901, he married Rendall (?-?) and they had eight children. He was a member of the Manitou School Board and Presbyterian church.
