Grain merchant.
Born in Ontario on 18 March 1851, he was married to Helen Blackburn Ritchie (c1859-1924). They came to Winnipeg in 1890 and had no children. He served as President of the Winnipeg Grain Exchange in 1893. He was found dead in his Ottawa hotel room, apparently having suffered a heart failure, on 23 June 1905.
