Memorable Manitobans: John Adrian Ashley (1902-1987)
Educator. Born at Boissevain on 7 August 1902, son of William H. Ashley and Margaret Hahn, he was the Principal of Miami School (1934-1938) and Brooke School (1951-1956, 1958-1962). He was President of the Manitoba Teachers’ Society (1954-1955). From 1956 to 1958, he taught the children of Canadian military personnel in West Germany. He died at Winnipeg on 5 October 1987.
