Journalist.
Born in 1942 at Capetown, South Africa, daughter of Stanley Younghusband, she met her future husband, visiting Canadian Ted Allan, and in April 1961, she married him and they moved to Canada where they had two daughters and a son. She was a reporter for CBC Radio. They lived in New Zealand from 1972 to 1975 then returned to Winnipeg and she attended the University of Winnipeg, receiving a BA English degree. She wrote essays for Chatelaine magazine and her article on apartheid in South Africa won a provincial CBC short story contest. She died with her husband in a fire at their home on 16 December 2024.
