Community activist.
Born at St. Boniface in 1925, daughter of Alexandre Bernier and Emma Louise Flanagan (1895-1985), as a child she participated in weekly radio dramas. As a young woman, she was a central figure in le Cercle Molière, performing in Canadian Drama Festivals under the direction of Pauline LeGoff Boutal in Montreal (1949) and Calgary (1950). In later years, she travelled to Montreal and Toronto as the Western Canadian representative in CBC religious programming.
In 1950, she married physician Paul Vincent Coldrey Adams and they had two daughters and five sons. She was a co-founder and the first President of Pregnancy Distress Service (later Pregnancy and Family Support Services). With her husband, she co-founded SERENA Manitoba to promote natural family planning. She was a western representative in Family Action, an organization supported by the Canadian Catholic bishops and Knights of Columbus. In her fifties, she taught adult oral French at St. Boniface College.
She died at Winnipeg on 8 April 2011.
