Historian.
Born at Desford in 1930, daughter of Elizabeth "Betty" Clyne and Frank Gregory, her childhood was spent on the family farm near Boissevain where she attended West Lake School. In 1950, after completing a Home Economics program at Brandon, she began working athe Trans-Canada Motel and Restaurant at West Hawk Lake. There, she met Adolph Zimmerman (?-2011) and they married in 1951. They subsequently had two children.
She and her husband built, and operated for ten years, the tourist facility Lakeside Cabins at West Hawk Lake. They sold the business in 1962 and built a home at Toniata Junction, from which she travelled to work at Tall Pine Lodges.
She was active in the Tea-Time Ladies Club, West Hawk United Church, Toastmasters, and Birchwood Ladies Club. She contributed to the Whiteshell Echo newspaper for many years. She wrote and in 1991 published a book on the history of the Whiteshell Park area entitled History and Folklore of the Whiteshell Park - South. It went through two printings and remains a cherished item in many cottages in southeastern Manitoba.
In 1999, she and her husband retired to Victoria, British Columbia. She moved into an assisted living facility at Sidney in 2018 and died there in October 2025.
