Memorable Manitobans: Robert James Wood (1886-1954)Merchant, MP (1949-1953), MP (1953-1957). Born at Teulon on 27 March 1886, son of A. S. Wood and Catherine Campbell, he attended school at Teulon and Portage la Prairie, then became a merchant at Teulon. On 10 October 1910, he married Jane Camyre (?-?). He served as Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Bifrost in 1917. Defeated in the 1945 general election, he was elected to the House of Commons for Norquay in 1949, and re-elected in 1953 for Selkirk.
