Memorable Manitobans: Robert Bruce “Bob” Werry (1928-2024)

Cleric.

Born at Oshawa, Ontario on 18 August 1928, son of Clarence and Bessie Werry, he received degrees from the University of Toronto and University of Western Ontario. After summery ministry in northern Ontario, his first posting as a United Church minister was at Cut Knife, Saskatchewan. He then came to Manitoba where he served as Stonewall, Minnedosa, Basswood United Church (1972), Cadurcis United Church (1973-1977), and St. Paul’s United Church (1980-?) until retirement. He died at Portage la Prairie on 8 May 2024.
