Born at Blackburn, England in 1886, he trained as an architect before moving to Canada in 1911. He worked for two years as a draftsman in the Manitoba Department of Public Works then spent a year in the Winnipeg City Architect's Office before establishing his own architectural firm. His only known work is the St. James Methodist Church. He relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1921 where he worked in real estate. He died at Vancouver on 26 December 1938.
