Farmer, beekeeper.

Born at Zitavaska Nova Ves, Czechoslovakia on 15 April 1905, son of Joseph Uhrin and Annie Kovacs, he attended the village school. In 1925, he married Victoria Horvath (1905-1988) and they immigrated to Canada two years later. They settled in the Pine Creek district of Manitoba in 1929, where they farmed, had two sons and two daughters, and kept bees until retirement in 1956. At that time, they moved to Austin. In July 1990, he moved to Armstrong, British Columbia to live near his daughter.

He was a member of the Masons (Gothic Lodge) and President of the Austin Curling Club (1957-1959). He enjoyed gardening, tending fruit trees, woodworking, and playing shuffleboard.

He died at Vernon, British Columbia on 7 May 1991 and was buried in the Austin Cemetery.
