Athlete, architect.
Born at Winnipeg on 13 August 1923, a love of cycling developed in his teens. In the 1940s, he became a dominant force, winning races at the provincial and national levels in short- and long-distance cycling. He was the Canadian Spring Champion three times and Canadian Long Distance Champion. He became an architect and moved with his family to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1955. There, he designed many residential and commercial buildings. He maintained an interest in cycling with active membership in the Bicycling Association of British Columbia. He was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame (1990). He died at Kelowna, British Columbia in May 2012.
