Businessman, community activist.
Born at Lillehammer, Norway on 3 July 1925, he and his family came to Canada in 1929 and his childhood was spent in the Logan Avenue neighbourhood of Winnipeg. He attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate and excelled in sports. In 1943, he enlisted in the Royal Norwegian Air Force and transferred to the Canadian Army in 1944. After the Second World War, he attended the University of Winnipeg and started a career in sales. In 1951, he married Marcelle “Marcie” Kenny (?-2001) and they had four sons. He was active in several professional organizations, including the Society for Coatings Technology, Master Brewers Association, Northwest Commercial Travellers Association, and Canadian Institute of Mining. He volunteered with such groups as the Scandinavian Centre, Viking Club (President), Norwegian Canadian Club, Knights of Columbus, and Boy Scouts of Canada. He died at the Riverview Health Centre on 8 March 2012.
