Community activist.
Born at Fort William, Ontario on 28 March 1910, her main focus outside of her family was serving in the Catholic Church. Her service included Lector and Minister for St. Augustine of Canterbury Church in Brandon. She was a Life Member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL), for which she was a parish and provincial president. She attended some 30 national CWL conventions and had a great love of travel. She helped out at the Children’s Aid and visited the sick at the hospital. For 12 years, she worked as a nurse in the former Assiniboine Hospital. With her husband John Pungente (1912-2001), she had two children, including John J. Pungente. She died at Brandon on 23 January 2005 and was buried in the Brandon Cemetery.
