Memorable Manitobans: Pierre Picton (c1897-1963)
Cleric, historian.
Born in France around 1897, he came to Canada in 1904. He served as a Roman Catholic priest in several Manitoba parishes, including Ste. Genevieve Roman Catholic Church (1929-1935). He was also a well-known archivist, historian, and genealogist with the St. Boniface Historical Society. He died at St. Boniface Hospital on 19 July 1963 and was buried in the St. Boniface Cathedral Cemetery.
