Memorable Manitobans: Wilfred Arcadius “Arky” Perron (1916-1994)
Educator.
Born in Saskatchewan on 20 February 1916, son of Anna-Marie Talbot and Philippe Perron, he was teaching at Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan when he met his future wife, Edna Marie Thuot (c1918-2017). They subsequently had five children. The family moved to Manitoba and resided at St. Norbert. He was the Principal of École Varennes (1957-1975). He died at the St. Boniface Hospital on 20 January 1994 and was buried in the St. Norbert Roman Catholic Cemetery.
