Memorable Manitobans: Norbert Pelland (1899-1970)Community activist. Born at Myrtle, Manitoba on 6 June 1899, he was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish and belonged to the Society of St. Jean Baptiste, as well as the Knights of Columbus. Pelland was a member of the Quarter Century Club, and also a Sargeant Major for eighteen years in R.C.A.S.C. Pelland was a member of the Missionary Association of Mary Immaculate and served as President of the First Missionary Group until his death at Winnipeg on 28 May 1970.
