Broadcaster.
Born at the St. Boniface Hospital on 6 November 1936, youngest of three sons of George Alexander Eugene “Gene” Parker (1899-1982) and Vera Norine Berry (?-1981), he worked in radio and television for many years. He was a weather reporter on CBC Winnipeg's 24 Hours, co-host of News at Noon, and quizmaster of Reach for the Top. He hosted Parker's Penthouse on CKRC Radio and had a music and conversation program on CKVN Radio. On 30 May 1959, he married Diana May Crossin (daughter of Albert Porteous Crossin, granddaughter of Albert Livingstone Crossin) at Regents Park United Church and they had three sons before separating. His later partner was fellow broadcaster Arvel Gray. He died at the St. Boniface Hospital on 9 June 2023.
