Grain company executive.
Born in The Netherlands, as a young man he entered the grain industry at New York before embarking on a lengthy business career in Canada. He was President of the Continental Grain Company of Canada and Vice-President of the Continental Grain Company of New York. He resided in Vancouver, British Columbia for the last 30 years of his life but spent a part of each year in Winnipeg, where he was a member of the Advisory Committee to the Canadian Wheat Board (1948-1952). He retired in May 1959. He died suddenly, while attending a church service at Rome (Italy), on 18 October 1959.
