Memorable Manitobans: Kornelius Herman Neufeld (1892-1957)Musician. Born in Nikolajewa, Russia, he studied at the Moscow Conservatory and immigrated to Winkler in 1923. He organized church choirs in Winkler and elsewhere in Manitoba, seeking to make the Mennonites “a singing people.” He founded the Winkler Music Festival in 1936.
