Memorable Manitobans: William Thomas Muir (c1857-1900)

Farmer, municipal official.

Born in Ontario, son of Francis Muir and Elizabeth Lytle, he started farming in Manitoba about 1878. From 1894 to 1900, he was a councillor of the Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie, and its Reeve in 1900 up to the time of his death at his home near High Bluff on 16 October 1900. He was the father of Edwin H. Muir.
