War veteran, community activist.
Born near Austin on 11 November 1895, son of Edwin John Morris (1866-1940) and Margaret Agnes Allan (1868-1948), in 1916 he enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force and served overseas with the 107th Battalion before transferring to the 44th Battalion. He lost his right leg in combat.
