Born Newmarket, Ontario, 17 December 1878, son of George and Elizabeth Milgate. Educated public schools, Ontario. Came to Manitoba and engaged in farming, 1895-1898; started present business, 1895. Interested in Western Iron Works Company. Married Ellenor E. Dyke, Newmarket, Ontario. Club and Society: Canadian; IOOF. Recreations: curling, motoring. Liberal; Methodist. Address: 23 St. James Place, Winnipeg. In 1911, Milgate was proprietor of the firm of George Milgate & Company, 1008 McArthur Building, Winnipeg.
