Memorable Manitobans: Walter McKinley (1868-1943)Businessman, musician. Born in England in 1868, he came to Canada in 1898 and operated a real estate business for many years with George Soames. He also worked for a time as a grain broker. He was known for his fine tenor voice and was active in musical affairs in Winnipeg. He took leading roles with amateur comic opera producers and co-starred with well-known singers such as Mrs. Tom Verner and Madge Barett, Winnipeg.
