Hotelier, tour leader.
Born at Belleview, Saskatchewan on 19 July 1923, she spent her formative years at Maryfield, Saskatchewan, and Timmins, Ontario. After marrying Edwin Willis “Ed” Manning (1920-1989) in 1946, they owned and managed hotels in Port Dover, Ontario and Transcona.
In 1972, she was the first hostess/coordinator of Manitoba Farm Vacations. With her charming personality and contagious enthusiasm, she also led many tour groups to different parts of the world. She was honoured with the Canadian Silver Tourism Medallion in 1982 for her outstanding contributions to Manitoba’s tourist industry. She was also actively involved with Direct Action in Support of Community Homes (DASCH).
With her husband Ed she had a daughter and two sons. After he died, she later married Marcel Caron.
She died at Ottawa, Ontario on 3 August 2005.
