Memorable Manitobans: Charles MacIver (1887-1973)Policeman. Born at Breasclete, Scotland he spent 43½ years on the Winnipeg Police Force, including six years as Chief of Police. In 1928 he was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for bravery by the Cosmopolitan Club of Winnipeg. He was a member and past president of the Canadian and International Chiefs of Police, and a member and past president of the St. Andrew’s Society of Winnipeg.
