Memorable Manitobans: Albert Larson (1899-1967)Grain buyer, municipal official. Born at St. Ouens on 23 March 1899, son of John and Catherine Larson, he worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway for 20 years then was a grain guyer for United Grain Growers at Beausejour (1938-1964). He served as Mayor of Beausejour (1953-1965) during which time he brought water and sewer service to the town (1957). He was a member of the Beausejour Lions Club (President), Beausejour Curing Club, Masons (Beausejour Lodge), Beausejour Chamber of Commerce (Director), Beausejour Industrial Development Board (President), and the Beausejour-Brokenhead Memorial Arena (Director). He died at the St. Boniface Hospital on 8 April 1967 and was buried in the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery. Sources:Obituary, Winnipeg Tribune, 11 April 1967.
