Farmer, municipal official.
Born on 5 May 1927 to Rose-Anna Vermette (1892-1971) and Amédée Lagasse (1883-1972), he grew up and received his education (à la petite école) in St. Adolphe, where he helped raise livestock and grew wheat on the family farm. During the winter months as a young man, he worked in bush camps for eight seasons. In 1951, he married Alma Fenez. The couple bought land south of St. Adolphe, continued to farm, and raised their five children. A jack-of-all-trades, he also worked in a sugar beet factory, drove a school bus, and served as Councillor for the Municipality of Ritchot for nine years and Reeve for six years. He was known as a sociable person who participated actively in numerous committees within the church and community. He was President of the Club Amicale for many years and was also a member of Les Chevaliers de Colomb. He died on 22 May 2006 and was buried in the St. Adolphe Parish Cemetery.
