Fisherman, store owner.
Born at Gimli on 30 May 1912, for sixty years, he was a commercial fisherman on Lake Winnipeg and was famous for the stories he would tell about the many characters that the lake ‘spawned’ and regale visitors at the private museum he established about the industry. After retiring from fishing, Kristjanson and his wife operated the Target store from 1967 to 1992. He was active in many organizations, including the Lake Winnipeg Packers, Gimli Old Timers, Gimli Kinsmen, and Khartum Shriners. Kristjanson was the Master of both the Lisgar and Viking lodges and took great joy in his activities as a Shriner. He died at Gimli on 6 October 2003.
