Butcher, theatre owner.
Born in Ontario on 20 January 1868, son of Leopold Kobold and Wilhelmina Vollrath, he came to Winnipeg with his family in 1881. There he was married, on 7 September 1904, to Ada Isabella Woodhead (?-1934). They had two children: Victor Edward Kobold (b 1914) and Bernice Kobold. He worked in his father’s butchery business and, in 1904, partnered with his brother Gustavus Adolphus Kobold in the construction and operation of the Dominion Theatre. He died at Winnipeg on 18 May 1931 and was buried in the Elmwood Cemetery.
