Memorable Manitobans: John Connel Wilson “Con” Kerr (1916-1992)

Educator.

Born at Okotoks, Alberta on 17 June 1916 , the son of Rev. Charles Bernard Kerr and Patricia Samson, he taught school in Saskatchewan He then served five years in the military during the Second World War, where he met and married Joyce Lillian Catherine East. They returned to Canada and moved to Flin Flon where he taught for 26 years, first as a teacher and later as Principal. After retiring, he moved to Neepawa, and later to British Columbia, first at Abbotsford before spending the last few months at Kelowna, where he died on 7 May 1992.
