Memorable Manitobans: Stanley Hazelwood Jones (1896-1980)

Businessman.

Born at Glen Ewen, Saskatchewan on 1 July 1896, he was working on the family farm at the time of his 1918 enlistment in the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He moved to Brandon in 1939 where he was active in the business community. In 1962, he was inducted into the Order of the Buffalo Hunt in recognition of his contributions. He died at the Deer Lodge Hospital on 19 April 1980 and was buried in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
